My Creative Space

Well it is cake day! My little fella is 2 today! Awwww..... so not much on today really except birthday stuff. This is the effort from last night. One train cake. Today it is adding the decorations to make it look like a train, with a very small tender. Had to make that quickly so we can stick candles or something on. Well see if it stays there or not. I had enough icing for that bit anyway so used it up. Not sure how we will decorate it yet but between hubby & I we should come up with something. It is only pale green, like a lime milkshake. We saw so many train pics & the colours were so bright they really looked sickly. So we went subtle instead! lol

Have a good day & for more creative spaces check out Kootoyoo...
edited to add - see next post for finished train if you are interested.

Happy Birthday to your little man! I'm sure he will be thrilled with his train cake! It looks like it's going to be fab (and don't forget to eat half the decorations before they reach the cake... that's the best part!)

Happy Birthday Boy! My guy had a train too, good thinking on the subtle icing - mine was a bright blue which ended up over everything!

I love decorating kids cakes-they are always so thrilled with the results.
Yours looks so subtle and sweet, but mine usually end up garish! We had a birthday party for a soft toy a couple weeks back and it was such fun making the cake with my kids.Hope he has a wonderful birthday!

Happy birthday, and happy birthing day to you! The train looks great. Well done. It takes patience to decorate cakes. I always end up tearing my hair out and wondering why I didn't try something easier.

Happy second birthday to Brandon for today. I hope he had a great time eating his yummy cake Mandy. Trains must be popular, my nephew celebrated his 2nd birthday on the weekend and had a train cake too. I hope you had fun decorating, I love that part. :)
