Star light!

One last Mill Hill ornament for the month of October! This is from the series from this year of ornaments & goes with Hope that I did a few weeks ago. This is Star obviously!

We have the most beautiful day here today. Good start to the long weekend. We are off to the show this afternoon. We were trying to decide whether to take Brandon or not & since it is so nice out we will. I really want him to see the animals. I am curious to see if he likes riding on any of the little rides for the wee ones... Should be fun. Stuart & I haven't been to a show in over 20 years so that will be a blast from the past. (not necessarily a good one! lol)

Stars shining bright above you;
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you."

Christmas cards in progress

It isn't a terribly good picture but these are Precious Moments miniatures that I make every year for my cards for some family & friends. They will be framed in flexi hoops eventually. I will do that bit all at once on all of them. Four down, about 14 to go!

And I'm thinkin' up a letter that I'm writin' in my head
A Christmas card to all the folks I love
Instead of lettin' the postman bring it, I decided I'd rather sing it
especially for you, for you

Assorted Crafts

I keep forgetting to put this picture up. Friends of ours had a baby back in September. I had just got this started when mum broke her leg & life was jumbled up again so it was forgotten for a bit. But I did eventually sit down & get it finished. The design is a Forever Friends bear & it was taken out of a UK cross stitch magazine, though I have no idea anymore which one as I only have the chart & not the whole magazine left. It's pretty cute though & very pink!

This is Beartooth Santa from the Mill Hill Appalachian Santa series. I just finished this yesterday. I was determined to finish something to blog! lol He is a little different than he originally was. I let Brandon have a look & Brandon then detached some of his beard, so his face is a bit wonky but I can't fix it. I have sticky felt on the back & I will not try to pull that off to fix the face as I will just wreck it further I am sure! So I don't care. He is definitely original!

Don't laugh at these but hey, you have to do something to entertain a one year old sometimes. Amazing what you can do with toilet paper rolls & a couple of pipe cleaners, some sticky tape & a magazine. Brandon thought the butterfly was pretty funny though & he has started buzzing like a bee sometimes so we just make buzzy noises with the butterfly too. I really don't know what noises a butterfly makes so buzzing is going to work for us! The other things is a bug! You can decide what sort of bug. It has 6 legs so it can be any type of insect you imagine it to be. You have to love imagination!

It makes a bee think of honey

My wish list is getting very long....

Here are a couple more books that look just lovely! So I will have to keep admiring them for a time. The Hand-Stitched Felt looks so cute!

Books on my Wishlist!

Don't these just look delightful? I love the idea of a little piece of Normandy in my home.

& what could be better than the idea of sticky, chewy, messy & gooey desserts? I don't know but if you find it tell me!

Don't you tell me you're full
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Get yourself an egg and beat it
Have some more chicken, have some more pie
It doesn't matter if it's boiled or fried
Just eat it, eat it, just eat it, eat it
Just eat it, eat it, just eat it, eat it, ooh

My Place and Yours...

Here is a fun type of post! Meet Me At Mike's is one of my favourite blogs. I even have the book if you remember from a previous blog entry of mine. Currently we have a My Place & Yours - Beside feature over there, so I thought, why not? I will join in for fun.

I have a restored garage sale cupboard. I painted it to match the room obviously! Comes with a clock, light, baby monitor, Vitamin E oil which I wouldn't live without, Burt's Bees cuticle cream, & a stack of books. Current read is Dog On It - Spencer Quinn, a couple of to read - Pants on Fire, Cloudstreet & Temptation, then a look at book, Felties which I posted on my previous blog entry.

Check out the list of people joining in at the link above too! It is fun to see how others decorate.
There are some pretty ones. Go to my list of blogs I read & check out Poppylane. Her place is so pretty!

Have a pretty day!

Won't you come on and go with me
Come on ova to my place

New Books!

Some new books that have been added to my crafting plans in the last few weeks. Now we just wait for time to do any of them!

It's full of charts and facts and figures and instructions for dancing

News Flash!

Not much going on here right now, except we are moving house! Ekkk!!!

Looks like we have bought one! We are doing something different than everyone else these days & we are upsizing rather than downsizing. It is a fact that we have outgrown our little place & I have really had to adjust to the idea of moving from here, but now it is really exciting. More details later. I am waiting on finding out when we will actually be doing the moving bit now. I have started to pack some stuff up & do little bits when I can but at the moment it is only in the evenings so I am not getting a lot done.

Only little bits of stitching getting done at "work" at the moment, inbetween an upset child that must be getting more teeth through. I don't expect there will be a whole lot more craft getting done than that right now. So if I vanish for a bit, you know what I am doing anyway! If anyone would like to lend a cleaning hand I would love help! hahahahah... especially with the oven! I dread cleaning ovens! I bet I am not the only one though!

Take Care!

09 October, 2009

It's been a busy week. I have hardly done any stitching at all. I know there were 3 days of no crafting at all so that was a shame. Oh well, these things happen. I am just hoping the Christmas rush & silly season hasn't set in & that it is a sign of what's to come over the next few weeks.
Anyway this is one of the newest Mill Hill kits called Hope, obviously! It is quite a pretty one. I got all my Mill Hill ornaments out last week to have a look at them all together. I forgot to count them though. Next time maybe.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

Just a couple more

I'm getting boring I know but oh well, at least I am still able to stitch a little. This is one of the original Mill Hill Angels, & also Christmas Goose. I did an extra goose as I thought I better get a couple done soon for the Bushfire Ornament collection.

In between fishing with Brandon in the workshop & playing in the cubby house, & squishing playdoh I am still able to help customers, watch Friends & stitch a little. lol

I got some fish for in the bath. They stick on tiles & the bath tub. Along with that, a net from the pet shop & voila, instant fishing. He spent about 20 minutes doing that yesterday. Lucky I remembered the smock else he would have been soaked.

I'm gone fishing,

Sounds crazy I know,

I know nothing about fishing,

But just watch me go.
