Almost Caught Back Up

Had dropped off a little on my quilt.  But this week with the boys back at school, I had a little time & inspiration to get into it again.  This is a couple of weeks worth but not last weeks quite yet.  It's coming along though & I am quite pleased with the result to date.

Stuart's Socks

Socks this week are for Stuart.  Thought I better get onto some before winter.  He loves the hand knits for work.

The yarn is Nako Boho yarn.  We recently got it in at work.  A whole new range of 15 colours.

I did a fleegle heel again but although they fit quite well they are bunching at the ankle on top of his foot.  It's folding on itself.  Odd but oh well.  He won't care.  He treats socks rough.  I did manage to get them to match pretty darned well too!

Challenge Completed

I find myself trying new things with my crafting.  I have to continually challenge myself, even if it isn't something I will do again.  It's nice to learn something different.

So I had a cute beanie in my Ravelry queue for a bit.  A free pattern too can you believe.  The Baa-ble Hat.

So on the weekend I got to it.

Two days & I had turned it out.  Am quite pleased with it.  I had never done colourwork before & never really done a knitted pattern from a chart.  They always scared me as did working with multiple balls of yarn that were going to annoy me a lot when they got tangled & stuff.  So I figured a beanie was a good place to start & it went well & I enjoyed it & can now say I have tried 2 new things!

Go Me!  lol

BJ - enjoying a new family favourite game "There's a Moose in the House".  Got a few games in over the holidays.
DJ - an enjoyable game of "Tumbling Monkeys" with this guy that has grown up a bit more in the last few weeks.  The first time we've ever played it properly & not his way.  So much fun.  He's such a clown.

Knitting Again

Some more socks this week.  I tried the fleegle heel again.  It didn't work so well, with the print in the Cascade Heritage Paints though.   I will probably go back to doing the After Thought heel again now.  But hey, I have conquered a heel as I go so maybe that little fear has gone.

Slow - Road Works Ahead

I lost a little mojo on my quilt, but have caught back up again.  Well almost...

The last 3 from week 12.  The first 4 were attached & here we started the next round & with a new background colour.

Week 13.

Week 14.

Week 15 will probably appear with week 16.  Week 15 is fused but my machine is away on holiday & due back tomorrow I hope.  So the weekend could be catch up fun.

Super Socks

I tried something different in the sock knitting.  I did a bit of a pattern & the pattern even included a new heel which I ended up giving a go.  Wasn't so easy on the first sock but on the second it was a breeze.  I'm quite chuffed actually.

You know the really scary thing?  I didn't even try to match them up.  Actually I just started the second without caring as it doesn't bother me if they don't match.  But far out, if I had of tried I couldn't have got it much closer!

Somewhat proud of my big boy today - he received an award for trying so hard with his learning.  That's all we ask, that he tries.
