Slow Going Mystery

It's been going on but very slowly.  It wasn't a good week to do much of anything as just disrupted often.  So a couple of squares below took an eternity!  Also found I hadn't even printed up Clue 3 so that was another reason why I am all out of order!

BJ  - briefly fishing...

DJ - first time fishing where he was allowed to hold a rod!  It lasted 2 minutes.  But he was excited to try out his fishing chair at last that he got for his birthday!

Lego Man

Today was BJ's turn to dress up.  

Introducing Emmet from the Lego movie & books.  

My Little Robber

& an excited Robber he was!  

DJ only does "school" for an hour a week.  It's at the primary school where BJ already goes, but it's a programme for 0-5 year olds.  Being Book Week this week of course he had a dress up too.  He was so excited & was waiting ALL weekend to dress up like a robber.  Finally he did.  He walked up to the class room growling "I'm a robber"....  He got a few looks from the school kids that were still on lunch break & saw him.  Was quite funny & he typically enjoyed it all!  

They have half hour of playing & this time all the activities were involving books.  This was really cool & he enjoyed playing with the dinosaurs in the goo...  sort of like slime it was.  All based on a book "The Dirty Dinosaur" which was also the book the teacher read before we left.  

Dressmaking

I know!!!!  

I don't do clothing!  Well not as a rule, it just doesn't suit me much!  lol  But it's that time of year again!  AGAIN!  I'm sure it happens more than once!  

What time of year???  

Book Week!  

Yep, dress ups.  

It's funny but it doesn't even occur to me to go & buy a costume!  I understand plenty do & that's cool.   But when I hear of dressing up stuff, my mind just thinks automatically that I have to make something!  

WHY?  

Cos that's how I roll I guess...  

My mind tells me so!  

(shhhh...  stop talking so much Mind!)

I emptied the rain water out of the clam shell.  Made a really pig puddly in the dip in the lawn.  Told them there was a really good puddle to jump in.  

They did!

A Mystery

I have been sitting around doing a little bit of stuff still in my weeks.  

I decided some time back to join this Mystery Afghan crochet along.  I prefer "Blanket" to afghan so I am doing a mystery blanket!  

Every couple of weeks on Ravelry the people doing this one get emailed an update for the next clues.  They are nearly finished I think but I was late getting round to starting.  So it's a bunch of clues telling us what to make for the pattern & that's it.  We don't know how it will end up yet.  

I used 4 colours that I had sitting in the cupboard that I wanted to use up.  Mind you, of course I am running out & need to get another ball of some colours!  

So here it is...

(had to skip a few clues as the grey is still attached waiting for the next clue for that one so moved on to some that I could do)

BJ - out with mum for a milkshake.  

DJ - rugged up in pjs & dressing gown quite early after playing outside & getting so icy cold, had to try to warm him up!  Not that it bothered him!  Nothing bothers him much  - just food, just not getting the food he wants is all that bothers him!

A portrait of my boys once a week for a year.

BJ - playing & building with DJ today but taking some time to work on the puzzle blocks that I made him when he was small.  It's been ages since he has done them & was concentrating on them so hard & getting annoyed.  But got there in the end.  

DJ - despite being full of a cold (again), he had a little bit of time in the fresh air, though maybe not so fresh when unloading a load of mushroom compost with Dad!  It's been so cold & rough here all week & today was crazy so needed rugging up for sure!
