BJ - a fishing party for one of your friends today.  I pinched the picture off them!  It was too good not to share.

DJ - finally back in the pool for lessons after postponing last term.  So much happier this time round & swimming with Daddy is a bonus!

A Knit For Me

Yes a picture of me!  Ekkk..  but only so I can show you this cardigan I made!   No one is as impressed as me!  lol  I am surprised at myself, but actually it wasn't difficult.  It's a top down & seamless cardigan so it wasn't hard.  It take me a little while as I started last year but didn't do any knitting over summer so it sat here waiting & taunting me to finish it.  I picked it up recently & got going.  I have worn it a couple of times now.  It's lovely for at work.  Shorter sleeves don't get in the way.  It's a 4ply piece too so it isn't hot to wear.  It's not bulky or anything.  I think if I knit it again I will add a few more stitches to under the sleeves that the 4 they suggest so I have a little more over the bust but oh well, maybe this will give a little.  

The pattern is Vanadium that is available through Ravelry.  One of my favourites for sure.  The yarn is Sweet Georgia BFL in the colour Saltwater.  I love it.  & yes, it's a sock yarn but that makes no difference.  Maybe the nylon in it will help it wear on the elbows, like it would in a shoe...  Hmmm...  

So there you go.  Something I have been working on lately while I had no computer.  That sure helped it get finished more quickly anyway. 

Crochet Weekend

The mood struck on the weekend to do a spot of crochet again.  I got caught up for about 5 minutes to the CAL.  Then I remembered that it was the day to post a new square.  

So the first one is Heatwave which I actually did some time during the week but just realised I hadn't posted that one yet either.  

This one is Mum's the Word, which was actually the square posted on Mother's Day which was a coincidence.  

This one is Waldo's Puzzle which is one from last years CAL!  Ekkk..  yes I am a bit slow.  But I picked it up yesterday to just do cos I felt like it.  I still didn't get the rings hooked up correctly though!  Darn it!  But I don't care.  I wasn't undoing it all.  I still like it.  It's pretty.  It's also very wavy at the moment.  But I don't block my squares either so it will just have to pull flat when I put them all together.  

So there you go!  Some crochet & a computer to blog them on!  lol  Double bonus!

BJ - was first in line for the painting.  A rocket & a rainbow on his arm.  So cute!

Last Cartoons

Cool huh?  I really like these.  As much as I hate spiders, the picture makes me laugh. 

Sad to be at the end of these.  I really did enjoy stitching them.  I used DMC stranded cotton 3760.  I used about 10 skeins for all the pictures I think.  Not sure exactly.  That includes a partial skein that I threw out after it was dunked in my coffee by a little person.  For the sake of a partial skein at around 60 cents worth I am certainly not washing it & trying to use it anyway!   Wet cotton gets crunchy & not worth using.  lol 

So that's that part of the quilt.  I guess I need to start checking out the fabrics to use in the applique pieces on the quilt.  That will be fun too!
