Frog Pond

Finally another finish. This is Mill Hill's Frog Pond. I have had this in my stash for a while & it is nice to see if finished. Picture isn't really very good but you get the idea. There is a frog on the bottom right corner. It's another one I have been able to do at work in between stuff!

Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side
Rainbow's are visions
They're only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we've been told and some chose to
Believe it
But I know they're wrong wait and see

Someday we'll find it

The lovers, the dreamers and me

We've been busy playing

It is pretty cool what you can do with big boxes! Well Brandon thinks it is cool anyway! The other day I was trying to think of something to do with all these big boxes we have on hand in the lawnmower shop. Well a cubby house was the logical start. We started off the week with only 1 box & later in the week we put an extension on. It may get bigger later on... We also draw on our boxes to decorate them but you can't tell from the picture.
Brandon found these safety glasses somewhere in the office! He is sitting on one of the ride-on mowers in this picture. Unfortuantely he worked out how to get on the seat this week. So he will sit up in the window & chatter away & wave to people as they go past. I did get a couple of ornaments finished though, inbetween building cubby houses & playing games. Frosty is the last in the series which included Peace, Jingle & some others that I did a while back. Sara Snow is the little lady snowman with her pretty tree. Amazing how some interesting way of doing crosses makes the tree look really fancy, not that you can tell from the picture but it is quite cute! Terrible picture I'm sorry, but again the snowlady is white & glares at the flash.

Footy finals day & I don't really care much. I am looking forward to getting some time at home this afternoon I think. Mum comes out of hospital today so that is great.

I hope your team wins! Mine won't! lol

More ornaments

It's amazing what you can get done when you are waiting around in hospitals! The Santa & the Peace ornaments are both ones I have been able to do the stitching of while waiting this week. The beading I got done in the shop. The Snowman I actually finished last Saturday but haven't done anything about him what with the birthday on Sunday & all. I have a couple of others lined up ready to go. These are nice & transportable when you need something in your bag to do. Just the perfect accessory for waiting anyway!

Building Sandcastles

The second leg of the Amazing Race sent the groups to the beach where they had to spend at least 5 minutes building a sandcastle & then take a picture of their group with it. I still haven't got any more photos on line from other people so we have some of the same people featured as the last lot of pics! Hi Amber!

Will be quiet here for a bit I think as things are going on... But I have been able to stitch a little inbetween all the waiting around that has been going on the last few days...

I'm a cool low Jane
With a skip on my feet
I play tough as nails
With my heart on my sleeve
I'm nothing but a sandcastle
Baby don't blow me away away

Our Amazing Race was a success!

Things have been pretty busy here! We were organising a big party for family & friends to help us celebrate our birthdays! Pressure is on when interstate family say they are coming!

A few months ago I came up with the idea of a car rally for it. Then it turned into an Amazing Race version sort of. So I adapted a few things from the show the Amazing Race & put them into our own local version.

We had our party yesterday. We have 28 big people & 6 little people so that was nice considering I didn't think I could ever find that many to come to a party for me! lol We had a total of 10 cars driving around doing it so that was fun to watch!

It included some quiz sections for around our town. Also it included some activities that the participants/contestants had to do. Since my crafting has been on hold the last few days, plus I have a huge head cold I will post a few pics here over the next few days. Each group was asked to take a camera along for a couple of the sections & take pictures as evidence. I hope to get more photos from others over the next few days.

The following photos are from Race leg 7. Leg 6 sent them to our place to find the marked box (proper Amazing Race speak that is!). The marked box consisting of a bucket with balloons tied to it (well it is a party & balloons are obvious aren't they?) had clue 7 in it. It asked that they use what was in the bucket to leave us a message on the driveway. The bucket had pavement chalk in it. They had to use all of the colours in their message. This is where you see who takes notice of what is written. It is easy to see why the teams on the tv show get caught out for not reading clues properly. We weren't quite so harsh on those that didn't follow what the clue said exactly!

Stuart fortunately was able to make it home in time to take these pics of the complete driveway messages. It poured while we were continuing on with the party & by the time we got home just a couple of hours later there wasn't a sign of any of it left!

Stay tuned everyone for some more pictures of the Amazing Race.

Signs of Spring

Here are the last two magnet ornaments from the Mill Hill Spring series that I have been doing. I finished Popcorn yesterday & Banana Split today. They really are cute i think & quick & easy to do inbetween lots of other things. I wouldn't normally bother with the non-Christmas ornament types but I liked all these. Hope you have all enjoyed seeing them as much as I enjoyed stitching them.

One banana, two banana, three banana, four.
Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more.
Over hill and highway the banana buggies go
Comin' on to bring you The Banana Splits Show.

I just love this backpack. It would be terrific for Brandon. I really have to work up to something like this! I'm sure I could manage it but it looks daunting.

I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back.

Chorus:

Val-deri,Val-dera,
Val-deri,Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Val-deri,Val-dera.
My knapsack on my back.
